From October 17 to December 13, the Alliance Française of Bogotá is presenting “Digital Art, Digital Culture” by Houda Bakkali at Chicó venue. The exhibition merges physical artworks with augmented reality, allowing the public to enjoy art in a different, more immersive, playful, and interactive way.
The exhibition is also complemented by a virtual gallery, multimedia content, and educational and outreach resources about digital art, its uses, benefits, and challenges. The exhibition takes place as part of Noviembre Digital, an event promoted worldwide by the Institut Français to celebrate digital art and culture.
This event highlights beauty, color, dynamism, diversity, and a hopeful vision of life through the figure of the woman, as a tribute to the artist’s mother and to feminine power. It also seeks to illustrate the potential of digital art to transcend spatial, temporal, and generational boundaries, creating synergies among diverse audiences and making art not only timeless but also universal, accessible, understandable, and joyful.
Digital art and technologies such as augmented reality, virtual spaces, and multimedia tools help amplify the message, fostering dynamic and bidirectional communication around the artworks and exhibition spaces. These innovations create experiences in which the public plays a central and participatory role.
