As part of Francophonie Month 2026, an international event celebrating the diversity of Francophone cultures, Houda Bakkali will lead a workshop titled “CREATIVITY AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES BEYOND ART” at the Alliance Française of Tegucigalpa, Honduras
This is an open event for all audiences, addressing the challenges and advantages of new technologies applied to art; their impact on fields such as communication and marketing; their influence on cultural institutions and traditional artistic practice; as well as the new opportunities they open up for creatives in areas such as medicine and science, education, and tourism.
The workshop is structured in two parts: a first, theoretical section, and a second, practical section focused on augmented reality, exploring some of its tools, uses, and applications, as well as the challenges this technology poses for art and how it can push art beyond the limits of the canvas. Participants will also be able to observe the creative process through an example centered on the creativity and science pairing.
“New technologies applied to art open up new opportunities for cultural institutions and creatives. They add versatility and new languages that enrich the art ecosystem from different perspectives. Learning what some of these technologies are, how they are having an impact, what their uses and applications are, understanding the strengths and weaknesses of their tools, or determining when and why to use them these are the main objectives of this training. To learn, compare, practice, and engage in discussion around an innovation that is already part of our everyday reality and that invites us to learn, to move forward, to be creative, and to build the future through deep knowledge,” comments Houda Bakkali.
