Curva Pura è lieta di presentare Fearless on my breath, la prima personale italiana della pittrice sudcoreana Yesul Lee, giovane artista emergente di Seul, con base a Berlino, già protagonista di diverse esposizioni in Germania.
La mostra, a cura di Nicoletta Provenzano, presenta una selezione di opere recenti in un allestimento site specific, dove tele dai toni freddi si confrontano con lavori dalle cromie più calde, generando un dialogo visivo di contrasti e armonie.
Le pitture dell’artista sono una membrana d’aria lucente che rinvia un chiarore soffuso e vaporoso, ascendente o ricadente, evanescente e auratico; sottili raggi di stratosfere rarefatte, delicate increspature di luci ardenti o diafane, come veli di venti terrestri e marini, si inarcano e flettono, si danno reciprocamente forma in un aereo percorso serrato o fluttuante.
Yesul Lee intraprende un viaggio nelle profondità della sostanza aerea e della luminosità atmosferica, nelle loro dinamicità e continuità, verso una leggerezza sostanziale. In un soffio poetico di onirismo intimo l’artista rivela una dimensione visuale in cui la materia pittorica si dissolve e al contempo penetra l’essenza estetica dello spazio, definendo un crescendo estatico che diviene campo aperto lungo un velo di purezza e approdo alla visione immaginativa.
Originata sull’onda di un respiro che si espande come una brezza inafferrabile e viva, la mostra Fearless on my breath incanta con una forza incidente e misteriosa, sorge e persiste nella perfetta pulizia formale di una ricerca pittorica in grado di coniugare rigore cristallino e necessaria libertà.
Curva Pura is pleased to present Fearless on my breath, the first Italian solo exhibition by South Korean painter Yesul Lee, a young emerging artist from Seoul currently based in Berlin, who has already taken part in several exhibitions in Germany.
Curated by Nicoletta Provenzano, the exhibition features a selection of recent works in a site-specific installation, where cool-toned canvases interact with warmer compositions, creating a visual dialogue of contrasts and harmonies.
The artist’s paintings are like luminous membranes of air, radiating a soft and misty glow, rising or falling, evanescent and auratic. Subtle rays of rarefied stratospheres, delicate ripples of burning or diaphanous light, like veils of terrestrial and marine winds, arch and bend, giving shape to one another in an aerial flow that is either tense or drifting.
Yesul Lee embarks on a journey through the depths of aerial substance and atmospheric light, exploring their fluidity and endless continuity in search of an essential lightness. In a poetic breath of intimate dreamscape, the artist reveals a visual realm where the painted matter gently dissolves, while at once penetrating the aesthetic essence of space, shaping an ecstatic crescendo that becomes an open field along a veil of purity and leading the gaze toward a threshold of imaginative vision.
Born from the wave of a breath that expands like an elusive, living breeze, Fearless on my breath enchants with its mysterious and impactful energy. It rises and endures through the pristine formal clarity of a pictorial exploration that seamlessly combines crystalline rigor with a necessary sense of freedom.
BIOGRAFIA:
Yesul Lee (nata nel 1994 a Seul) vive e lavora a Berlino. Si è diplomata nel 2024 e attualmente prosegue i suoi studi nel programma di Meisterschüler (Master) presso l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Dresda. Nello stesso anno ha ricevuto il Diploma Prize dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Dresda.
Yesul Lee (born 1994 in Seoul) lives and works in Berlin, graduated with a Diploma in 2024, and is currently continuing studies in the Meisterschüler (Master) program at the Academy of Fine Arts Dresden. In the same year, she was awarded the Diploma Prize of the Academy of Fine Arts Dresden.
