The artist Luigi Piccirillo continues his pictorial reflection on the antinomies of the postmodern individual with “From the cave – vol 2: Chaos Inc.”, his second personal exhibition which will be inaugurated on Friday, February 15th, at 6.00 pm, at the Salvatore Serio art gallery of Naples.
Curated by Claudia Del Giudice, the exhibition project was born as a development of the earlier, more intimate, “From the cave”, which made explicit the need of the human being to take refuge in the cave of his existence to freehimself from external conditioning and finally find himself.
“Chaos Inc.” expresses the subsequent view of the identified awareness of man on the external world. It is a recorded chaos represented by the artist because is trapped in his works, fragments of inner and outer chaos.
Luigi Piccirillo, class 1984, is a sociologist. Many of his artistic experiences gained over the years, ranging from video art to music, from painting to writing, have been strengthened thanks to the humanistic studies carried out.
His profession allows him to reflect daily on the issues he prefers and on which he likes to express himself through art that he considers the only way to fully affirm his inner freedom.
The exhibition consists of 7 medium-large format works, mixed technique, all realized on wooden supports during the last six months and which mainly represent animals, aquatic or terrestrial natures and almost never human in their entirety, if not through insignificant details of a lost body who knows where.
Strong is the assonance with the music (it was frontman of the Idromeles, a band for which he wrote the musical pieces), another great passion of the artist that is revealed both in the mode of realization of the works, both in the choice of the title of the artistic project.
