We Art Open 2023: CONTEMPORARY ARTS COMPETITION

No Title Gallery announces a competition for artists with the aim of promoting contemporary art. All artists residing in the European Union aged 18 to 80 (by January 1, 2023) can apply, individually or in groups.

ART. 1 – INTRODUCTION
The sections are: painting and graphics, sculpture and installation, photography, videos, performances and new media, Hdemia: this section is reserved to visual arts students coming from academies, fine arts institutions and universities.
The works will be selected following these criteria: quality of the project, research, innovation, authenticity. Mastery of the medium, resumé of the artist and the feasibility of the work will be other influencing factors. There are no limits of subject, technique or style, as long as they fall into one of the categories specified above.
The competition will result in: The selection of 20 finalist artists, 4 for each of the aforementioned sections of the competition. An exhibition of the 20 finalists curated by CREA cantieri del contemporaneo in Venice from 20 January to 5 February 2023. A catalogue of the exhibition is included.
A cash prize of € 2000 (two thousand euros) to one of the 20 finalists, chosen by No Title Gallery.
An exhibition prize to one of the 20 finalists chosen by 10 & zero uno, art space in Venice. a Studio award to one of the 20 finalists chosen by Centro espositivo San Vidal, art space in Venice.

ART. 2 – TERMS AND METHODS
Applications must be sent by Thursday 30 December 2022 at 11.00 pm (GMT + 1) exclusively at the following online form: Partecipe to WAO 2023 https://form.jotform.com/notitlegallery/we-art-open-2023-english
Applications will not be accepted by e-mail or by paper mail or sent after
the deadline indicated.
It is possible to submit a maximum of 3 works for each candidate / candidate.
Requirements: personal data of the participating artist or, in the case of a collective, of one of the members as representative.
Short artistic portfolio, focused on education, previous exhibition or any other relevant experiences, in .pdf format, maximum 20 MB.
Artworks: Image of the artwork, following these instruction, according to the section:
Painting and graphics, sculpture and installation, photography and Hdemia section: minimum 1 maximum 5 images of the candidate work in .jpg, .pdf, .png format, resolution 300 dpi, RGB. Rename the file as follows: LastName_Title_year.
Video, performance and new media section: a link to YouTube, SoundCloud, Behance or Vimeo. In case of protected video, the password must be provided.

ART. 3 – EXCLUSION CRITERIA
Short presentation text of the work in competition (max 500 words).
Participation is not allowed to the members of the selection committee (see art.5), their relatives and relatives up to the third degree, including those who are employees or employers or who have collaboration ties or ongoing and well-known relationships with members of the committee itself.

ART. 4 – REGISTRATION FEE
The registration fee, partially covering organization expenses, is set at € 50 for participating artist or collective. For art student, is set in € 30 for participating artist or collective.
It is possible to submit up to 3 works in the same section or in the five different sections, paying the registration fee once. Payment must be made in Euros, without bank taxes or commissions charged to the organization within one week of sending the material.
The registration fee is not refundable.

ART. 5 – JURY AND SELECTION OF FINALISTS
The jury is composed by professionals in the field of contemporary art.
Each juror will personally take care of the choice of the artworks concerning his own sectio. The jury’s decision is final and cannot be changed.
The Jurors are: Painting and graphics: Beatrice Gelmetti, artisti and WAO winner 2022; Sculpture and Installation: Federica Fiumelli – curator; Photography: Maria Chiara Wang – curator and art critic; Video, performance and new media: Yasmine Helou – curator; Hdemia: Stefano Coletto – curator.
The decisions of the jury are final and unquestionable.

ART. 6 – AWARDS
The 20 finalist artists will participate in a collective exhibition produced by No Title Gallery and held in Venice at CREA cantieri del contemporaneo from 20 January to 5 February 2023. The group exhibition will be accompanied by a catalog.
There are also: a cash prize of € 2000 (two thousand euros) to one of the 20 finalists, chosen by No Title Gallery; an exhibition prize to one of the 20 finalists chosen by 10 & zero uno space, art space in Venice; a Studio award to one of the 20 finalists chosen by Centro espositivo San Vidal, art space in Venice.

ART. 7 – DEADLINES
By 30 December 2022: application.
By 9 January 2023: finalist announcement.
By 20 January 2023: opening of the collective exhibition of the finalists and announcement of the winner of the above prizes.

ART. 8 – REPRODUCTIONS RIGHTS
Each participant in the competition grants No Title Gallery and its legal representative the rights to reproduce the images of the submitted artworks and any related texts for publication (catalogue) and communication (website, social media) purposes, connected to the competition itself. Joining and participating in the prize implies the unconditional acceptance of all the articles of this announcement.
